Weekly Newsletter: What happened on the Cosmos ecosystem this week? January 30โ€“February 5

1. The @mars_protocol mainnet is live! ๐Ÿ”ด

Mars is now live and running smoothly. We are very glad to be one of the 16 genesis validators on the network.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Trading is live on Osmosis: https://app.osmosis.zone/pool/907

๐Ÿ‘‰ & also on Kujira: https://fin.kujira.app/trade/kujira1v8kh6mqxq7awcvl936xeyzv8fnmdkd3yxggvkyek5d0ecut4a6zs0larj2?q=all

Mars Hub is live
At 1500 UTC, 16 genesis validators hummed to life and the first red block was forged. With the successful launch, eligible addresses can now access airdropped MARS governance tokens.

If you want to learn how to stake, you can check our articles in different languages below. ๐Ÿ‘‡

We are also available on Restake, you can use our link to auto-compound your $MARS rewards.

2/ Launch of @cometbft! โ˜„๏ธ

CometBFT is a fork of Tendermint Core with the goal of ensuring a high degree of flexibility and allowing for experimentation, as has already been done with the release of ABCI 2.0 for example.

This fork will be handled by @informalinc, the documentation is currently in progress and will be available soon at https://docs.cometbft.com.

3/ @confio_tech does not have sustainable funding.

Confio is a key contributor of CosmWasm, the most well-known Cosmos environment for smart contracts. However, the company is struggling to be sustainable in providing public goods.

We all know how important CosmWasm is for the Interchain, as it benefits different teams. A Twitter space was held to explore further solutions, and we hope that a path for sustainable funding can be achieved, we will support such initiatives.

4/ @Sagaxyz__ x @0xPolygon

Saga has announced a partnership with Polygon, whereby the Saga protocol will automate the instantiation of Supernets, Polygonโ€™s appchain solution.

Supernets are developed by Polygon Edge and it allows a project to spin up an appchain using their chosen subset of Polygon validators, while still using the MATIC token to secure the chain.

For more information, you can read: https://medium.com/sagaxyz/saga-and-polygon-announce-partnership-to-automate-supernets-polygons-appchain-solution-db82d654c43f

5/ @EvmosOrg released its 2023 roadmap!

The Evmos team has just released its roadmap for 2023 with great additional features such as Interchain Accounts, Liquid Staking support, auto conversion of IBC tokens to ERC20, and a fee subscription module, to name just a few.

The recent V11 upgrade has already implemented Liquid Staking, Interchain Accounts, and a new distribution logic for rewards. Here is a short video that explains everything ๐Ÿ‘‡

BONUS: @dydxfoundation released its annual ecosystem report, which contains information about the upcoming dYdX Chain.

Here is the plan:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Private Testnet โ€” end of March

๐Ÿ‘‰ Public Testnet โ€” end of July

๐Ÿ‘‰ Mainnet โ€” end of September

Weekly Newsletter: What happened on the Cosmos ecosystem this week? February 6 โ€“February 13

1. Prop 95 passed, which gave birth to the ATOM Accelerator DAO

The community decided to support Proposition 95, which is a path forward to progress and support teams that aim to bring value to the ATOM economic zone.

The team will be busy over the coming days to set everything up. For more information, follow @ATOMAccelerator, and stay tuned for what is coming.

2. Mars Protocol: the Red Bank is live

The Red Bank has been deployed on Osmosis, this is the first outpost launched in the Cosmos.

Users can now go to https://mars.osmosis.zone/redbank and lend or borrow ATOM, axlUSDC and OSMO.

At present, all deposit limits have been reached. Those wishing to deposit in Mars will need to wait for an increase in the deposit limit or for other users to withdraw their deposits.

3. Stride is now live on Terra!

You can now:

The STRD airdrop will be available to LUNA stakers in March

  • Snapshot: January 19th, 2023 (block 3399238)
  • Min threshold: 50 staked LUNA
  • Max threshold: 25,000 staked LUNA

4. SushiSwap is coming to Sei Network

SushiSwap, one of the largest DEXs in the EVM space, is now extending to the non-EVM world and has decided to acquire Vortex Protocol to launch a Sushi perps platform on Sei Network.

Glad to see that one major Ethereum protocol is extending its business to the non-EVM world. Congratulations to the Sei team for the work.

5. Keplr introduced the Keplr Validator Dashboard!

The KVD enables validators to:

  • Cast votes with just a few clicks.
  • Leave reviews on proposals and share them
  • Interact with delegators and other validators via comments

This is a great effort from the Keplr team to facilitate interactions not only between validators but also between a validator and its delegators.

1. The Quasar testnet is now live! ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ

You can access the application here: https://testnet.quasar.fi/.

The very first vault is called Orion and uses an auto-compounding, multi-pool strategy on Osmosis

The vault deploys liquidity into three different pools to earn yield, and then automatically reinvests the accrued yield into the same liquidity pools.

For more information, please read this article

2. Liquid staking is coming to Evmos! โ˜„๏ธ

The stEVMOS by Stride is the first ever liquid staked derivative on the Evmos ecosystem. This means that Evmos users can now participate in DeFi while earning staking rewards

The EVMOS/stEVMOS pool is live on Osmosis and is incentivized.

If you want to get stEVMOS, you can deposit $EVMOS directly here: https://app.stride.zone/

3. The Dymension testnet is live!

This is a major milestone for the modular world. For its 35-C testnet, the Dymension Hub is running and already live on the Celestia Mocha testnet.

And an explorer dedicated to modular chains has arrived: Modular Cloud.

It is the first explorer that integrates modular data availability, settlement, and execution layers in a single, integrated platform.

4. Sei Network announced its โ€œStake It Till You Make Itโ€ game.

The game runs until March 2nd and consists of 4 rounds spaced in 6-hour intervals, starting at 00:00 UTC

The goal of this game is to simulate delegations and redelegations of staked SEI among SEIโ€™s active validator set. At the end of the game, the top 100 players will receive testnet prizes!

5. A new governance tool for Cosmos โš›๏ธ

It has been announced by @0xArb: interchaingov.com. It is your all-in-one place to engage with interchain communities and their underlying networks.

One major improvement is their easy-to-submit proposals feature, which means that there is no longer a need to use complicated CLI requirements.

They have made it easy for anyone to submit a proposal on-chain.

Weekly Newsletter: What happened on the Cosmos ecosystem this week? February 20โ€“February 26

1. Prop 187: v9-Lambda upgrade is live on the Cosmos hub!

This is the first step towards Interchain Security on the Cosmos Hub. If this proposal passes, ICS Replicated Security will be live and the first consumer chains will be able to use this feature.

The Cosmos Hub will implement the first shared security system on Cosmos, in which consumer chains will have the same economic security as the Cosmos Hub.

2. Lava testnet is now live!

The first omnichain, decentralized RPC network is one step closer. The Lava Network is now open to all developers and is primarily accessible through an easy-to-use hosted front-end, known as the Gateway.

Here are some benefits of the Gateway:

- Rapid Onboarding

- Unstoppable Performance (Connected to multiple leading RPC providers)

- Consensus-Based Data Integrity

Documentation is available at: https://docs.lavanet.xyz/

3. Liquid staking update

A new partnership between Sei Network and Stride has been done!

Stride will provide liquid staking on Sei and create a home for liquid staked tokens from across the Cosmos ecosystem.

A news about Quicksilver too! The team recently launched liquid staking for $ATOM, you can now stake ATOM and get qATOM directly using app.quicksilver.zone.

4. Numia announced Data Lenses!

Numaโ€™s mission is to make Appchain data and its associated knowledge available to everyone. Lenses will be an advanced data analytics dashboard for the ecosystem.

Lenses V1 will launch in Q2 of this year, starting with Osmosis and expanding from there.

5. An attacker exploited a vulnerability on Team Kujira

This exploit occurred on the wETH USK margin contract on Kujira, resulting in a bad debt of $230,000.

The Kujira team explained everything in the thread below.

Fortunately, the Kujira Team will absorb and repay 100% of the bad debt created by this attack, ensuring that USK remains fully collateralized.

BONUS:
