Motivation and Goals


Motivation

Innovative ideas are rarely successful when acted upon by a single mind. For this reason, community is the essence of Racøøn. A community consists of having the ability to combine different points of view and being able and willing to challenge each other. This is not an easy task but will surely generate a more successful project and enhanced vision.

Consequently, Racøøn's goal is to have a mutable body that unites community, artificial intelligence, and gambling. Each of these topics play a specific role and are integral to the success of the Racøøn project. The purpose of the following section is to showcase how these items are intended to work together for the betterment of the project as a whole.

Racoon's main goals

  • $RAC tokens will be 87% owned by the community and will grant decision-making powers over the $RAC tokens.
  • $RAC needs to be utility oriented. A few examples of this utility include providing access to NFT airdrops; the ability to purchase NFTs with $RAC; the ability to use $RAC to morph existing NFTs into new ones; inclusion in the Racøøn DAO; exclusive access to the Racøøn Metaverse and Gambling platform; and more.
  • NFTs: The Racøøn team anticipates issuing multiple small NFT series’ (3 to 4) on different Cosmos chains. This allows for the inclusion of all members of the Cosmos community regardless of their preferred chain.
  • NFTs: All Racøøn NFTs will be generated using artificial intelligence models. This is a core objective of the project.
  • Metaverse/Gambling: The Racøøn team members are proponents of responsible gambling and Metaverse. One of our goals in the medium-term is to create a Metaverse Gambling platform.

What is $RAC?

What are the utilities of the $RAC token?

  • The first utility of $RAC was to provide to the top 125 holders (and 125 randomly chosen JUNO-RAC LP providers) with a free NFT from our $SCRT series.
  • The second utility of $RAC will be through participation in a DAO. The DAO will be made available in order for $RAC holders to stake their tokens and vote on governance items. A few examples of the types of proposals that may appear in the DAO include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Incentives for holders and stakers;
  • Decision-making for future NFT series’ (price, quantity, platform, etc.);
  • Usage of the 150,000 tokens reserved for contests and giveaways; and
  • Generic categories and/or specific games to be included on the Gambling Metaverse platform.
  • As noted above, Racøøn will develop a Metaverse/Gambling platform. The third utility of the $RAC token will be related to this platform. Staking $RAC on the platform will provide eligibility to receive a portion of the profits generated by the platform.
  • The fourth utility involves the release of the $JUNO NFT series. With this series, it will be possible to use your $RAC to modify (morph) your NFTs. We are also considering the possibility of using $RAC to mint an NFT.
  • The fifth utility involves the release of all future NFT series’. $RAC holders (and LP providers) will always be granted a portion of the NFT series free of charge. For example, the Racøøn team provided 19% of the $sSCRT series to $RAC holders.
  • Additional utilities will be considered in the future.

NFTs and Utilities


As we previously mentioned, the Racøøn team intends to issue multiple small series’ of NFTs (3 to 4) on different Cosmos chains. The first series has been issued on the $SCRT chain.All Racøøn NFTs will be generated with artificial intelligence models as this is a core objective of the project. As of now, the model we are leveraging is Generative Adversarial Networks. We intend to explore additional models in the future. What are the NFTs utilities?

  • The first utility of the NFTs will be linked to the Gambling Metaverse platform that will be released in the future. A portion of these profits will be distributed to $SCRT NFT holders/owners.
  • The second utility of the NFTs will emerge upon release the $JUNO NFT series. At this time, it will be possible to morph (or even combine) your NFTs into new ones.
  • The third utility will be linked to gamers participating in the Gambling platform. An NFT series purely linked to the Gambling platform will be released in the future. This idea behind this series includes obtaining an increased rank based upon participation in the Gambling platform. For example, Level 1 may consist of a generally basic NFT. Upon further participation in the platform, the NFT has the potential to improve. Improvement of the NFT may consist of new traits and characteristics such as new/different clothing, a crown, etc.
  • The fourth utility of the NFTs we intend to include is to allow transferability across chains. For example, an NFT originally available on the Cosmos chain could become available on an alternative chain. We intend to make this possible by creating a similar representation of the NFTs on alternative chains.
  • Additional utilities may be planned in the future.

$SCRT Network NFT collection1333 NFTs :

Owners of this collection will be provided a portion of profits generated by the gambling platform.

All profits from this collection is re-invested in Racoon Supply.

  • 333 will be minted for the community as described below: (See this link for the airdrops)
  •  125 for $RAC Liquidity Providers;
  •  125 for $RAC token holders;
  •  50-60 for Discord members;
  •  10-20 for Twitter members; and
  •  3-10 for other contests.
  • 1000 to be minted at a price of 40 sSCRT each.

SCRT minting profits will be allocated as follows:->

  • Gambling platform (main source)
  • Transformation of the website as an app (i.e., mobile friendly website). This will be a 'one-stop shop' where you can have everything related to Racoon (Gambling, NFTs, and $RAC dashboards). The Racøøn team is currently working on this.
  • Potential external expenses to build the above (anticipated to be approximately 3-4% of revenue or less).
  • 10% of the funds are retained in a reserve for unforeseen circumstances.
  • From the 10% reserve, the Racøøn team has included a portion of the reserve that can be leveraged for marketing if deemed necessary.
  • 6-7% of the minting profits have been consumed by fees related to cloud computing (GPU and CPUs) to train the deep learning models utilized to generate the NFTs.

$SCRT NFTs royalty

  • A 6% royalty on NFT marketplace sales will go to the dev wallet.

The Racøøn team will evaluate how much is raised from the royalty in the future. However, an estimated 2-3% portion of the royalty proceeds will go to our artist (dependent upon the actual proceeds generated from the sales volume). The other 3-4% portion of the royalty proceeds will go to the upcoming development/community fund. Why did we decide to use artificial intelligence for Racoon's project?

One of our core team member’s (Discord - Moltres) holds a graduate degree in deep learning (and undergraduate degrees in math and probability). In the past years, Moltres has worked in the artificial intelligence (deep learning) field within the finance industry. Moltres has also conducted research with respect to speech and language processing (fields associated with artificial intelligence).

Through a shared interest with the other founders of Racoon regarding art, NFTs, finance, and decentralization, we decided in 2021 to explore the possibility of sharing our interests to build a project for the Cosmos community.

TL;DR -> What are Racoon's AI models?

The AI models used to generate the Racoon NFTs are comprised of two main architectures:

  • Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs): Introduction link for GANs, First paper on GANs
  • In general, these types of models are comprised of two interacting parts that fight against each other (generator and discriminator). The generator part is responsible for generating new images from what it has been trained (images shown previously). The responsibility of the discriminator part is to confirm the “realness” of the new image as compared to the set of actual real images.
  • Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs): Introduction link, Review of CNNs.
  • CNNs are currently considered to be the best way for a computer to see and understand an image.

Programming language to generate Racoon NFTs:

Python is still the most popular language in the world of deep learning and artificial intelligence. This is why we are using Python to develop our models. The libraries we currently use to develop such models include:

  • PyTorch: Facebook's deep learning library (used for all the AI models architecture);
  • Pillow: Used for image processing; and
  • numpy: Used for matrix manipulations and math stuff.

Introduction: How does artificial intelligence (machine learning) work?

Let's begin by clearing something up. Artificial intelligence has a lot under its roof and has been a buzzword. What people actually mean when they talk about AI models is machine learning (or deep learning - where deep learning is an even more specific area of machine learning).

Machine learning is a strong concept as it is actually a machine (computer) that learns from observations, examples etc. It learns by trying to be 'better' at a given task. In the case of Racøøn, the AI model learns to be better at generating new images that are as good as possible (good as possible in this context means as close as possible to reality).

At the end of the day, you can see machine learning as computer programs that learn from experience and a given task on how to do something as good as possible. Let's see the example below.

A first example of what is machine learning

Generally, an AI model would take all the historical pieces of information regarding the weather for that region and its neighbors. Once obtained, the AI model will learn how to predict the upcoming temperatures.How does it do that? By simply trying to predict the upcoming weather by learning information from given historical information. An example of this is provided in the rendered image below.

In the above image, we provide the AI model with the average temperatures over period of time in 2018 (green line) and 2019 (red line). The model is able to learn the patterns and attempts to understand logic behind said patterns. Then, the model is used to predict future temperatures for a period of time in 2020 (black line).

What can we understand from the above: The AI model will not likely predict the exact temperatures for the period of time in 2020. However, the results of the model will likely contain better and more useful information than if the model had not been ran. AI models have a proven track record of being more accurate, and generally more useful than if data had been analyzed without the use of the model.

How does AI learn to generate Racoon NFTs then?

We will first explain simply how it works and then go in the details later on.

  • A model will be given a lot of Racoon NFT images along with different images of styles (paintings, 3D abstracts, video game images, wallpapers, real life images, etc.).
  • The model will take a Racoon NFT image and will try to transform it into an image of style and then attempt to transform it back into a Racoon. The other model attempts to do the inverse of this process.
  • Our model can be imagined similarly to doing language translation (i.e., transforming Spanish text to English and then transforming the English text back to Spanish).
  • Following multiple runs of the model, the model ultimately improves the process and “learns” how to do so.
  • The most exciting part of this model architecture is that it is able to learn how to generate images. How does it work? Simply give to the model a Racoon NFT image and a style it never saw before. The model will then provide something new

Below is an example on how the model works. It is in two parts (Racoon to Style and Style to Racoon). Then, the model also learns how to apply the style to a Racoon (which would generate new images).

DAO

This page is intended to propose good practices when making a DAO proposal and also to provide a more information on how the $RAC DAO works.

Details

The current configuration of the $RAC DAO is (the config can be changed by a proposal that is accepted):

  • Quorum is 33%. Which means there should be at least 33% of the staked tokens that are used to vote for a proposal otherwise it will fail.
  • 67% of the vote should be 'yes' for a proposal to pass otherwise it will fail.
  • It costs 500 $RAC to make a proposal (500 $RAC that are not currently staked in the DAO)
  • If a proposal fails, the 500 $RAC token that were used to make the proposal goes to the treasury.
  • If a proposal passes, the 500 $RAC token that were used to make the proposal are sent back to the proposer after the execution of the proposal.
  • Tokens in the treasury are owned by the DAO itself.

Considerations when making a proposal

It is easy to create a proposal but if you want to make sure the community participates to your proposal, you should consider the following:

  • Have a brainstorming session in the RAC-DAO channel on Discord so you are able to discuss with the community and see if your proposal would make sense. We also added the possibility of making polls in the channel.
  • Add a motivation/introduction to your proposal so the community understands where does the idea comes from and why should we take a vote on this.
  • Make sure your question can be answered by a yes or no otherwise you proposal could fail given it was misunderstood.

In conclusion, everyone with 500 $RAC can make a proposal but a clear proposal has more chance of getting engagement from the community.
