Overview

Berny the creator of the Pixel Wizards, started off in Tera and built the Pixel Wizards almost a year ago. They were really far in their development, so they wanted to finish the project and were impressed with the Stargaze ecosystem and figured out how to make them compatible with the ecosystem.

It is a unique collection, and Stargaze had to make some modifications actually to support the collection. The NFT acts as both a fully pixelated PFP and can also be opened in a browser to be interactive.

Berny has a background in building store fronts and web design and has built a merchandise store accepting crypto payments. They are a 2,222 collection currently on Stargaze Launchpad for 300 STARS for the public and 250 for the whitelist.

Designs/Traits and Current Utility

There are two types of images available

• Rester/JPEG and bound to a certain resolution and is pixelated being made up of different dots defining the colors following average standards for a PFP. It uses SVG, which is scalable vector graphics re-rendering and can sharpen the image.
• Interactive - the art is interactive through SVG and code, and your browser will display the wizard, and you can use the programing language to enhance it and play with the wizard. For example, the one acquired for Curious Cosmonaut Research can remove its hat, cast spells, and track the STARS token price. Each wizard can do other things if you use specific keys, such as lowest and average price, change in 24-hour pricing, and more.
  

There are 2,222 NFTs with 10 different attributes and traits within those, and each wizard has a name:

• Shadow - 1 Magical Enchanting Circle. Do you mint this rare power?
• Skin - 2 types, 3 colors, “Wait, ain’t that wizard all glory and sparkly!”
• Backdrop - 11 different backgrounds ranging in various colors
• Face - 11 different faces, glasses, fiery and more.
• Beard - 23 beards, long beards, normal beards, shaved, mustaches.
• Hat - 41 hats, masks, crowns, hoods and many more.
• Token - 21 crypto tokens drawn in pixel art, do you get your favorite?
• Staff - 30 different type of staffes, wands and miscellaneous objects.
• Robe - 33 Robes for various wizard classes, events and casual appearance.
• Artifact - 34+ Magical Artifacts, pets and objects that wizards use to draw power from
  
  

The collection is for fun, and they have already built out a merchandise store where you can buy merch with crypto, such as ATOM, and plan to accept STARS when possible using the BitCanna commerce.

Challenges/Concerns

The biggest perceivable challenge is a lower following potentially and a lower amount of capital raised at around 17K USD, estimated based on the WL mint already done and what is available to sell.

With that said, the developer said he is not in it for the money and has been working for free as he builds out this ecosystem.

Lore of Pixel Wizards

Based on their blog the wizards bring joy and wisdom to the ecosystem as defined by their blog:

“These wizards have one ultimate goal: to bring joy and wisdom to the people of Cosmos. Joy in the form of amusement and entertainment, wisdom in the form of fortune-telling, and token support. They are capable of bringing together the power of the elements to help those in need of council.”

There will be a wizard tower discoverable where wizards can hone their skills, enjoy a dining hall and interact with the secrets of the tower and hall. There are elements to master, such as fire, water, earth, and air.

As wizards level up there will be new magics available as well, which are considered lost magic: chaos, divine, necromancy, and arcanists.

Conclusion

The Pixel Wizards are an exciting project due to the fact they are pushing the boundaries on what is available on the Stargaze platform and creating a merchandise store with Cosmos assets to pay. Berny seems to be committed to bringing their programming knowledge and working with others in the community to expand the boundaries of what is available on Stargaze.
